The Reason Your are Reading:
My husband was actually the inspiration behind this website. I have always dreamed of being an author. For the past several years I have been casually working on several different writing projects. But this past year, I got serious. I decided I was going to finish my first book before 2014 was done.
But without readers, an eBook is simply lonely words in cyberspace. I needed to reach out to others who might care to hear what God was laying on my heart. I needed to reach you!
One of the writing projects I have held near and dear to my heart is a book on 1 Corinthians 13, the love chapter. I’ve entitled that project A More Excellent Way based on Paul’s words in the end of chapter 12:
“And yet show I unto you a more excellent way.”
Paul wanted to show the Corinthians that there was a more excellent pursuit than their self-serving struggle for spiritual gifts. Gifts could be a blessing from God, but Love was a blessing to all. Love served all. Love was the “More Excellent Way.”
I think I’ve gotten stuck on that phrase. So, as I was contemplating names for this blog, I kept coming back to this idea. God has a more excellent way for us. He wants us to serve each other in love. In my each and every day, God has a way for me to live that out to those around me, an Excellent Way.
And so a blog was born.
These pages have become an outlet for the things God is teaching me. Many of Christ’s most profound lessons were actually presented in the context of simple examples. Christ used stories, things people could relate to. I think God still uses this method today. Some of the simplest things in life can lead to some of the greatest lessons.
I would be delighted if you would join me as I strive to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Will you come with me as I seek to follow His way? It truly is an excellent way!
